Widow weeps as firemen salute fallen

Brenda Phillips sobs
on the casket of her husband, Brian, a Los Angeles city fireman who died
Wednesday when he fell 60 feet from a ladder. Hundreds of
firefighters paid tribute to Phillips during funeral service Saturday
morning in Chatsworth. Phillips was fatally injured fighting blaze
at North Hollywood lumber company. He worked at station 102, 13200
Burbank Blvd., Van Nuys. He is first city fireman to die in action
since June 1974. |
