Engine Company 15

Several times during the day and night the calm of the
campus is shattered by the piercing wails of emergency
sirens.
Fire engines and a rescue ambulance
frequently roar from the fire station just north of the
university on Jefferson Boulevard.
Engine Company 15 is a busy place even
when there are no emergency calls. Above, Ray
Auworth (left) and Jon Hall check the map before going out
on a fire prevention program. Above right, Bob
Heidel demonstrates how to get downstairs in a hurry.
Bottom left, Hans Wolf shows how a
powerful spray nozzle is used. Fireman Heidel,
bottom right, adjusts part of the hook-and-ladder unit's
rigging. |
