John H. Alderson

    John H. Alderson, who was Chief Engineer of the Los Angeles Fire Department from 1940 until his retirement December 29, 1955, passed away at Central Receiving Hospital May 17, 1969 at the age of 71.  He had been ill for several months

    John Alderson was appointed to the Department in 1923 and became Chief Engineer May 20, 1940.  Many present members of the Department served under him and remember him as an outstanding Chief Officer.

    On behalf of its members the Relief Association extends condolences to Chief Alderson's family.
